Social Development

Our children learn to interact with others healthily as they develop their own individuality. They also learn communication skills, teamwork, and behavior management that has a ripple effect on their lives, their communities, and families.

Cultural Development

MIB&G prioritizes cultural activities that instill pride and knowledge in our youth. We incorporate art activities that explore Black culture including step, dance, and theater. Participants deserve to know the truth about their history and the significance of their ancestors. We are committed to imparting honest, authentic information to our youth. Knowledge is power, applied knowledge is king.

Our message is one of hope, purpose, and opportunity

We illuminate the possibilities that reside in us as individuals, communities, and families.

Family Social Night

MIB&G youth, parents/guardians, and mentors participate in monthly Family Social nights. Youth and parents participate in fun, educational, and experiential activities. The objective of this monthly family night component is to strengthen family bonds and to improve parent-youth communication using themes such as building trust, positive communication, active listening, and tough conversations.

Mentoring the next generation of youth is critical to the future health and prosperity of our communities. Yet, millions of young people are currently growing up without the guidance and support from parents or others that are needed to prepare them to become well-adjusted and contributing members of society. We are grateful for the substantial commitments of time, talent, money, and resources that our community makes. Thank you to the mentors, families, organizations, churches, parents, guardians, educators, and others who support MIB&G. We appreciate you and we couldn't do it without you.
